Mobiology

Mobiology

Simply Mobilising is developing a doctrine which we have entitled ‘Mobiology’.

Mobiology can be described as an expression of theology concerned with the biblical, historical, strategic and cultural considerations of the church’s total and unconditional commitment to, and involvement in, fulfilling the mission that God has entrusted to the church.

Simply Mobilising’s expression of Mobiology is concerned with the mobilisation of all God’s people into active and fruitful involvement in the world Christian movement through:

  • The formation of a truly biblical worldview
  • An understanding that service and salvation are inseparable
  • The knowledge that God anoints us, gifts us and provides opportunities for service
  • A recognition that God has promised to guide us into fruitful service
  • The joy of knowing that we are labourers together with him.

Underlying Core Beliefs of Mobiology:

The Bible is primarily a book about God on mission, and Jesus taught his disciples to interpret scripture in this missional context:

… and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.  (Luke 24:47)

Mission defines the church’s existence on earth. God’s people are first and foremost a missionary people:

I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.  I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.  (Gen 12:2-3).

All God’s people have been called not only to believe but also to serve the advance and growth of Christ’s kingdom on earth:

All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: be reconciled to God. (2 Cor 5:18-20).

while we wait for the blessed hope – the appearing of the glory of our great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ, (Titus 2:13)

Our obedient participation with God in mission is designed by God to both bring about the reconciliation of people and peoples to himself and, also, to prepare his people as Christ’s bride for eternal ages:

Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: ‘Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. (Mark 8:34)

Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. (Rev 19:7)

Movements are raised up by God in all generations to propel his church forward in furthering his kingdom agenda and to maximise the missional opportunities that each generation provides.
